First of all I must start off by saying that I am a Yankees fan through and through. But seeing as I’ve never been to a World Series parade before I figured it could be fun, and it was! There was just an abundance of energy and celebration going on through out the whole day, even long after the parade was over. The turn out of what was reported to be near 2 million people shows just how passionate Boston sports fans are for their teams. Here is just a little taste of my experience at the parade.
Unable to get to my office due to the tragic events that occurred on April 15, 2013 at the Boston Marathon, I decided to venture into the city and see what kind of chaos (mostly caused by media today) was still going on on Boylston st.
The whole time I was out there I felt so many things for all the people involved, from the victims to the runners, to the first responders and all the volunteers who make having such an amazing event possible. I remember watching the commotion down on the street from my office window shortly before being evacuated yesterday. But I did also see great acts of kindness and heroism from many different people to try and get the situation under as much control as possible in an extremely timely manner.
I was thinking of all the things I wanted to write in this post explaining it all but when it comes to things like this people have so many emotions and different ways of seeing it. So I have now decided, I have captured how I saw it and now I will let you interpolate just what all this means to you.
But most importantly, I would just like to say thank you, to everyone who went above and beyond to help out in a time of need.
The class at Boston University CDIA that I am currently a Teaching assistant for went through their Working With Models module. Which is a two week module that New York fashion photographer Kevin Goggin taught. I took a few behind the scenes pictures on their shooting days when ever I had a chance. Here are some cool shots of some very talented photographers graduating in June 2013.
Cleaning up after a long day of shooting.
Yes that’s a leaf blower. It came in handy in a number of shots.
Well let it be said. My time as a student at Boston University Center for Digital Imaging Arts has officially come to an end. We had a short and sweet ceremony to wrap up our time spent at the center. Every director gave a nice little speech about each department but as Randy Armor (director of the photography program) said he always goes last so he gets to deliver the punch line. He also gave a very interesting speech about us just starting our journey. Take the time to read it, it was pretty cool! Here a link to it on his blog
Randy giving his awesome photo students a thumbs up!
Caroline Talbot winning the Brandon Hom award. Congrats!
Please note, not all photographs are mine. A few fellow photographers were using it as well, Its just that the memory card was mine so i get to post them!
With my time as a student at Boston University Center for Digital Imaging Arts coming to an end we got to have was was being called one of the best galleries of work the school as ever hung. Between the two classes graduating there was a tremendous amount of talent that will be displayed on the walls until the next class graduates in June. Here is just some of the work that is hanging around the school.
Also note that this work will be available for any to look at any time when the school is open.
